What is it?
There is a possibility to access free schoolbooks through a voucher system in Portugal. Workbooks are not included in the voucher system, but Camera Municipal de Lisboa (CML) refunds families the value of these books.

Who Can Apply?
Everyone can apply to request to receive the schoolbooks for free through a voucher.
Step-by-Step guide
- To request the vouchers, as the caregiver, you have to access “Encargados de educacão” on the MEGA platform.
- From there you must register with your name and email address and create a password.
- After registering your email you will have to verify your account with your NIF number and NIF password. (OBS! caregivers NIF is to be used NOT children's NIF)
- Afterwards, you have access to your personal account in MEGA and be able to see your children's personal information and school manuals ( books needed).
- You will be able to access the books needed and will find a voucher at the end of the book. You must click on the “ver vouchers” to receive it.
- There are two different vouchers- new and reused. The NEW vouchers will have a QR-code and you have to pick them up in certain book shops (https://manuaisescolares.pt/livrarias). The reused ones you have to pick up at the school. You need to show the voucher for both.
- If these steps do not work, you can access the vouchers through your children's schools “Secretária”.
